Things You Should Know
Smart people know education is an ongoing process. At the very least, we must regularly reinvestigate the things we think we know.
After you go through this section, you will realize how much you didn't know, and how much of what you thought you knew was wrong.
For example, what is the difference between a democracy and a republic? If America is a democracy, why does the U.S. Constitution state in Article IV, Section 4, “the federal government guarantees to the States a republican form of government?”
Is America's political system really a “Two-Party System” (as the Democrats and Republicans claim)? Is our present political system prescribed in the U.S. Constitution? Is a Two-Party System best? Is it even workable? In this section, you will discover the answers to these questions and much more. Upon completion, you will be not just politically literate, but astute.
Note: This section is being updated. Please be patient and come back regularly as we will be adding new material. The present update will be completed by July 1, 2015.
